The XC228x variants are high-performance single-chip CMOS microcontrollers from the Infineon XC2000 Family. The C166 Family's capabilities in terms of instructions (MAC unit), peripherals, and speed are increased by these devices. They combine a powerful CPU with increased peripheral functionality and improved IO capabilities to achieve high CPU performance (up to 80 million instructions per second). Flexible adaptation is possible to satisfy application needs with optimized peripherals. These derivatives make use of internal or external clock sources as well as PLL-based clock generation. Program RAM, Program Flash, and Data RAM are onchip memory modules.
