Description
The ADS1255 and ADS1256 are 24-bit, low-noise analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) that provide high-resolution measurement solutions for demanding applications. They feature a 4th-order delta-sigma modulator, programmable digital filter, and flexible input multiplexer with sensor detection. The selectable input buffer increases input impedance, while the programmable gain amplifier (PGA) offers gains from 1 to 64. The programmable filter allows for optimization between resolution (up to 23 bits noise-free) and data rate (up to 30kSPS). The converters support fast channel cycling and one-shot conversions with single-cycle settling. Communication is handled via an SPI-compatible serial interface, and onboard calibration supports self and system correction of offset and gain errors.
