Description
The Si3482 is a power management controller designed for use with the S13452/3 Power over Ethernet (PoE) controllers. It simplifies system implementation of power management for up to 48 ports with three power sources.
The Si3482 is programmed via a SPI or UART interface to configure power supply capacity, port power configuration, port priority, detection timing, and fault recovery protocol. Once programmed, the configuration data can be saved, and the Si3482 can operate without host intervention.
The Si3482 utilizes the real-time overload and current monitoring capability of the S13452 to manage power among up to 48 ports. Power management can be grant-based or consumption-based to supply power to the maximum number of ports.
