Description
The S-35390A is a CMOS 2-wire real-time clock IC that operates with low current consumption over a wide range of operating voltages (1.3 V to 5.5 V). This allows it to be used with various power supplies, from main supply to backup battery. The low current consumption (0.25 μA typ.) and wide range of power supply voltage at timekeeping extend battery life. In systems with a backup battery, the included free registers can be used as a user backup memory function. Users can retrieve information stored in the registers before power-off after the voltage is restored.
The S-35390A has a function to correct advance/delay of the clock data speed caused by the crystal oscillation circuit's frequency deviation. By combining this function with a temperature sensor and correcting according to temperature change, it is possible to create a high-precision clock function that is not affected by ambient temperature.
