Description
The L9826 is an octal low-side driver IC designed for the automotive environment. It features 8 channels with a 450 mA output current capability and a typical RDSON of 1.5 Ω at Tj = 25 °C. The device can be controlled via a serial peripheral interface (SPI) or through dedicated input pins for outputs 1 and 2.
The L9826 includes diagnostic capabilities through an 8-bit SPI interface. It also has intrinsic output voltage clamping (50 V typical) for protection against inductive loads, as well as short circuit current limitation and thermal shutdown for outputs 1 and 2. Outputs 3 to 8 have overcurrent and short circuit shutdown protection.
