Description
The DS1685/DS1687 are real-time clocks (RTCs) that incorporate the industry-standard DS1287 RTC clock with enhanced features. These RTCs are Y2K compliant and can operate at either 3V or 5V. They feature a 64-bit silicon serial number, power-control circuitry that supports system power-on from date/time alarm or key closure, a 32kHz output for power management, and a crystal-select bit that allows the RTC to operate with either a 6pF or 12.5pF crystal. The DS1685/DS1687 also have a SMI recovery stack and 242 bytes of battery-backed NV RAM.
