Description
The ICS840S061 is a PLLbased clock generator designed for Cavium Networks SoC processors. It generates the processor core reference clock, DDR reference clocks, PCI/PCIX bus clocks, and clocks for Gigabit Ethernet MAC and PHY. The device offers ultralow jitter, low skew clock outputs, and edge rates that meet the input requirements for OCTEON processors. It supports both external crystal and differential input sources and operates in a wide temperature range (40°C to 85°C).

Six LVCMOS/LVTTL outputs with 200Ω typical output impedance
Selectable core clock for the processor
Selectable clock for the PCI/PCIX bus
125MHz clock reference for GbE MAC
Three 25MHz clock references for GbE PHY
Selectable external crystal or differential (singleended) input source
Crystal oscillator interface for 25MHz, parallel resonant crystal
Differential input pair (CLK, nCLK) accepts LVPECL, LVDS, LVHSTL, SSTL, HCSL input levels
Internal resistor bias on nCLK pin allows for singleended (LVCMOS/LVTTL) input levels
Full 3.3V or mixed 3.3V core/2.5V output supply mode
