Description
The UC3717 is a complete chopper drive for one phase winding on a monolithic IC. It uses the inductance of the motor as the controlling element, which can cause a temperature rise in the motor due to hysteresis and eddy current losses.
Features
Reduces EMI and chopping losses in step motors
Confines EMI-causing, high frequency AC components to within the driver
Allows increased wire lengths and frees up design constraints
Eliminates high frequency AC chopping losses in the motor by providing it with almost pure DC current
Cools motor operation and reduces reliability problems
