Description
The UC3853 is an 8-pin power factor correction (PFC) controller that provides a complete PFC solution with reduced external components. It utilizes average current mode control with RMS line voltage compensation to maintain constant loop gain over a wide input voltage range, minimizing input line current distortion. The device incorporates a precision multiplier/squarer/divider, voltage and current loop error amplifiers, a voltage reference, and an internal 75kHz synchronizable oscillator. It also features an overvoltage protection comparator, a clamped MOSFET gate driver, and low startup and supply current.
