Description
The MIC2238 is a dual-output, 2-phase synchronous buck (step-down) PWM DC/DC switching regulator. It offers high power conversion efficiencies (above 95%) for various applications and loads. With an ultra-low quiescent current of 28μA at light loads, it minimizes current draw in battery-powered devices requiring standby modes. The 2.5MHz PWM operation enables the use of miniature inductors (1µH, 2.2pH, or 4.7uH) and a 2.2uF ceramic output capacitor.
The MIC2238 operates within an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V. Fixed output voltage versions are available to save space and reduce external components. The adjustable version (MIC2238-AA) allows output voltage programming as low as 0.8V.
For applications demanding low noise performance, the /FPWM pin disables the automatic Trickle mode, maintaining full PWM operation. To extend battery life in low-dropout conditions, the MIC2238 can operate with a maximum duty cycle of 100%.
