Description
The MCP40D17/18/19 are 7-bit single I²C™ (with command code) digital potentiometers with volatile memory in SC70 packages. They offer potentiometer or rheostat configuration options with 127 resistors (128 steps) and zero scale to full scale wiper operation. The devices have RAB resistances of 5 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ, or 100 kΩ and a low wiper resistance of 100Ω (typical). They feature low tempco (absolute: 50 ppm typical, ratiometric: 15 ppm typical) and support SMBus 2.0 write byte/word and read byte/word protocol formats. The devices have standard I²C device addresses of "0101110" and "0111110" (MCP40D18 only). They offer brown-out reset protection (1.5V typical), power-on default wiper setting (mid-scale), and low-power operation (2.5 μA static current typical). The devices operate over a wide voltage range (2.7V to 5.5V) and have a wide bandwidth (-3 dB) operation (2 MHz typical for 5.0 kΩ device). They are available in extended temperature range (-40°C to 125°C) and very small SC70 packages.
