Description
The MAX4271/MAX4272/MAX4273 are integrated 3V to 12V hot-swap controllers that enable safe insertion and removal of circuit cards into live backplanes. They regulate current to a preset limit during board insertion, preventing damage to connectors and components. After startup, DualSpeed/BiLevel protection safeguards against short circuits, load glitches, and overcurrent conditions. Fault recovery is handled by unlatching (MAX4271), autoretry (MAX4272), or programmed methods (MAX4273).
