Description
The MAX253 is a monolithic oscillator/power-driver designed for isolated power supply in RS-485 or RS-232 data interfaces. It drives a center-tapped transformer primary from a 5V or 3.3V DC power supply, providing isolated voltage up to 1W. The device consists of a CMOS oscillator driving N-channel power switches, ensuring 50% duty cycle and break-before-make action. The SD pin enables a low-power shutdown mode, disabling both power switches and the oscillator.
