Description
The LT1249 is an 8-pin power factor controller designed for universal offline power systems. It utilizes fixed high-frequency PWM current averaging to achieve low line current distortion and high system stability. The LT1249 features a multiplier with a square gain function to reduce AC gain at light output loads, maintaining low line current distortion. It also provides filtering to reject line switching noise and minimizes line current dead zone with low bias voltage at the current input to the multiplier. The LT1249 offers protection features such as peak current limiting and overvoltage protection, with an internally set switching frequency of 100kHz.
