Description
The LM2578A is a switching regulator that can be easily configured for DC-to-DC voltage conversion circuits such as buck, boost, and inverting configurations. It features a unique comparator input stage with separate pins for inverting and non-inverting inputs, as well as an internal 1.0V reference for each input, simplifying circuit design and layout. The output can switch up to 750 mA with saturation less than 0.9V. It has output pins for collector and emitter for design flexibility. An external current limit terminal can be referenced to either ground or V-, depending on the application. Additionally, the LM2578A has an onboard oscillator that sets the switching frequency with a single external capacitor from <1 Hz to 100 kHz (typical).
