Description
The L6561 is an improved version of the L6560 standard Power Factor Corrector. It is fully compatible with the standard version and offers superior performance, including:
Wider input voltage range (85V to 265V) with excellent THD
Reduced start-up current (tens of mA)
Disable function on the ZCD pin for lower current consumption in standby mode
The L6561 is realized in mixed BCD technology and provides the following benefits:
Micro power start-up current
1% precision internal reference voltage (Tj 25°C)
Soft Output Over Voltage Protection
No need for external low pass filter on the current sense
Very low operating quiescent current
The totem pole output stage can drive a Power MOS or IGBT with source and sink currents of ±400mA. The device operates in transition mode and is optimized for Electronic Lamp Ballast applications, AC-DC adapters, and SMPS.
