Description
The ISL9209 is an integrated circuit (IC) designed to provide redundant safety protection for Li-ion batteries from charging system failures. It monitors input voltage, battery voltage, and charge current. When any of these parameters exceed their limits, the IC deactivates an internal P-channel MOSFET to disconnect power from the charging system. Additionally, the IC monitors its internal temperature and turns off the P-channel MOSFET if the temperature exceeds 140°C.
