Description
The ISL22424 is a dual digitally controlled potentiometer (DCP) that integrates two DCPs, control logic, and non-volatile memory on a single CMOS IC. The DCPs are implemented with resistor elements and CMOS switches, and their wiper positions are controlled via an SPI serial interface. Each potentiometer has a volatile Wiper Register (WRI) and a non-volatile Initial Value Register (IVRI) that can be directly written to and read by the user. The contents of the WRIs control the wiper positions, and at power-up, the device recalls the contents of the DCP's IVRIs to the corresponding WRIs.
The ISL22424 also features 13 General Purpose non-volatile registers for storing lookup tables or other valuable information. It operates with a dual supply, allowing for a bipolar range for DCP terminals between V- and VCC-. Each DCP can be used as a three-terminal potentiometer or a two-terminal variable resistor in various applications, including control, parameter adjustments, and signal processing.
