Overview

Description
The INA170 is a high-side, bidirectional current shunt monitor that offers a wide input common-mode voltage range, low quiescent current, and a compact MSOP-8 package. It enables bidirectional current measurement through output offsetting, allowing for measurement of bidirectional shunt current using a single supply. The input common-mode and power-supply voltages are independent, with input voltage ranging from 2.7V to 60V and supply voltage from 2.7V to 40V. The low input bias current of 10µA minimizes error in shunt current measurement. The INA170 converts a differential input voltage to a current output, which can be used to develop a voltage across an external load resistor, setting gain from 1 to over 100.
