Description
The DS3923 is a high-speed current mirror designed for monitoring burst-mode receive power signals in avalanche photodiode (APD) biasing and optical line terminal (OLT) applications. It features:
Small and large gain current mirror outputs for APD current monitoring
Sample/hold circuit with automatic gain selection for accurate signal measurement
Adjustable current clamp with external shutdown and limit status
Integrated FET for fast APD bias shutdown
Extended temperature range of -40°C to 95°C

Accurate burst-mode RSSI measurement with two current mirror outputs
Optical input range of -32dBm to -5dBm
±0.5dB accuracy
Sampling period as short as 300ns
Pin discharge option
Low-noise APD bias with shutdown options
APD bias voltage range of 15V to 76V
External capacitor connection for controlled RC time constant of APD voltage filter
High-voltage switch FET for APD fast shutdown
