Overview

Description
The DS1090 is a lowcost, dithered oscillator designed for use as an external clock in switchedmode power supplies and other lowfrequency applications. Its dithering function reduces peak radiated emissions at the fundamental and harmonic frequencies. The device comprises a resistorprogrammed master oscillator, factoryprogrammed clock prescaler, and a pinprogrammed dither circuit. These features enable its use in applications requiring a spreadspectrum clock to minimize radiated emissions. A combination of factoryset prescalers and external resistors allows for output frequencies ranging from 125kHz to 8MHz. Both dither frequency and percentage are programmable using control pins.
