Description
The bq20280 is a SBS-compliant gas gauge IC that utilizes patented Impedance Track™ technology to accurately measure available charge in Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries. It provides instant accuracy without requiring a learning cycle and supports the Smart Battery Specification SBS V1.1. The bq20280 works in conjunction with the bq29312A analog front-end (AFE) protection IC to provide a complete pack electronics solution. It offers a full array of programmable voltage, current, and temperature protection features, and integrates a time base that eliminates the need for an external crystal. The bq20280 is designed for 7.2-V, 10.8-V, or 14.4-V battery packs with minimal external components. It is based on a powerful low-power RISC CPU core with high-performance peripherals and integrates field programmable FLASH memory, eliminating the need for external configuration memory.
