Description
The AP2822 is an integrated high-side power switch that includes an N-Channel MOSFET, charge pump, overcurrent and temperature protection circuits. It features a low MOSFET on resistance (85mΩ) to meet USB voltage drop requirements. The IC includes soft-start to limit inrush current, over-current protection, load short protection with fold-back, and thermal shutdown to prevent switch failure during hot plug-in. Under-voltage lockout (UVLO) ensures the device remains off unless a valid input voltage is present. A FLAG output indicates fault conditions to the local USB controller.
