Description
The ADF4107 is a frequency synthesizer designed for use in local oscillators in wireless receivers and transmitters. It features a low noise digital PFD, precision charge pump, programmable reference divider, programmable A and B counters, and a dual-modulus prescaler. The A and B counters, along with the dual-modulus prescaler, implement an N divider (N = BP A). The 14-bit reference counter allows for selectable REF frequencies at the PFD input. When used with an external loop filter and VCO, the ADF4107 can form a complete PLL. Its high bandwidth eliminates the need for frequency doublers in many high frequency systems, simplifying architecture and reducing cost.
