TDA8356 is a new field scanning output integrated circuit produced by Philips of the Netherlands. It is widely used in various domestic and imported large-screen color TV sets. TDA8356 contains field scanning excitation stage signal amplification circuit, field output signal power amplification circuit, field blanking signal generation circuit, field excitation and field output power supply circuit and some other auxiliary function circuits. Its characteristics include wide applicable frequency range, strong drive capability, stable working performance, and low power consumption.


TDA8356 is suitable for the power amplifier circuit of deflection yoke with frequency from 50~120Hz and deflection angle of 90 degrees and 110 degrees. The chip provides a DC drive deflection output circuit, runs in high-efficiency Class G systems, and has been used in TCL's smart series machines. Its main characteristics are as follows: it only needs a small number of external components; it is equipped with a field return switch, a high-efficiency full DC coupling field output bridge circuit, a protection circuit, and a short-circuit measure to prevent output pins 7 and 4 from being short-circuited and the output pin connected to Vp; its thermal The protection circuit has a high EMC immunity.

Ⅴ. Replacement and equivalent of TDA8356


The integrated circuit models that can replace TDA8356 are TDA8351 and TDA8356H. The internal circuits and parameters of these two models are basically the same. The only difference is that the output current of TDA8356 is 2A, while the output current of TDA8351 is 3A. Therefore, TDA8351 can be used to replace TDA8356. But TDA8356 may not be able to replace TDA8351, because the current value of TDA8356 is smaller than that of TDA8351, which may not meet the requirements of TV operation.



Ⅵ. Application circuit of TDA8356

As shown in the figure is the actual application circuit of TDA8356 in the figure. When 50V≤VFB≤60V, connect a 33Ω resistor in series with the VFB input terminal. The signals are input to pins 1 and 2 respectively, which are two sawtooth wave voltage signals with opposite phases, the positive sawtooth wave voltage is input to pin 1, and the negative sawtooth wave voltage is input to pin 2. Connect a resistor Rcon in parallel between pins 1 and 2 to determine the current passing through the deflection coil. After the signal passes through the differential amplifier and the push-pull power amplifier inside, it is added to both ends of the deflection coil by the output of pin 7 and pin 4. The voltage waveform on pin 7 is a pulse sawtooth wave, and the voltage waveform on pin 4 is a negative sawtooth wave. Resistor RM is connected in series with the deflection coil to provide feedback voltage input from pin 9, which improves the linearity of the output sawtooth wave and expands the dynamic range of the sawtooth wave.

 

 

Ⅶ. Advantages and disadvantages of TDA8356

 

TDA8356 has the advantages of wide applicable frequency range, strong driving capability, stable working performance and low power consumption, which makes it perform particularly well in electronic equipment. However, it also has some less dramatic drawbacks. For example, its packaging form is single, and it can only use a 9-pin single-in-line package, which makes it less replaceable. In addition, TDA8356 can only be used in color TVs below 20 inches, which limits its application scope to a certain extent.
