NE5532P is a high-performance operational amplifier with excellent DC and AC characteristics. It features extremely low noise, high output drive capability, high unity gain and maximum output swing bandwidth, low distortion, high slew rate, input protection diodes, and output short-circuit protection. These op amps are internally compensated for unity-gain operation and are specified with a maximum limit of equivalent input noise voltage.

The internal circuit is divided into three levels in total:

1. The left part is the differential input stage. It reduces zero drift and suppresses common-mode interference signals.

2. The middle part is the voltage amplification stage. It provides a large enough magnification.

3. On the right is the output stage. It improves load capacity and gives sufficient output current.

2. Functions

(1) Two diodes are connected in antiparallel and connected in series with the load at the same time. If the absolute value of the peak-to-peak value of the signal is less than the forward conduction voltage of the diode, it cannot pass because the diode is not conducting, otherwise it can pass. The function played at this time is to stabilize the voltage.

(2) When two diodes are connected in reverse parallel and in parallel with the load at the same time, when the voltage between the IN+ and IN- pins exceeds the turn-on voltage, one of the diodes is forward-conducting and the other diode is cut-off and is regarded as a large resistance. At this time, the output voltage is the forward conduction voltage of the diode (the output voltage is clamped at the forward conduction voltage drop of the diode), that is, the output voltage is limited, and it is two-phase limiting.

3. How to judge the pin order of the physical chip

(1) There is a semi-elliptical depression on the surface of the chip, and we place the semi-elliptical depression on the top, which corresponds to the pin diagram of the chip one by one. That is, the uppermost left side of the ellipse depression is pin No. 1.

(2) There is a sunken dot on the surface of the chip, and the dot is placed to the upper left, which corresponds to the pin diagram of the chip one by one. That is, the top left of the dot is pin 1.

Ⅴ. Parameters of NE5532P

1. Equivalent Input Noise Voltage: 5 nV/√Hz typical at 1 kHz

2. High DC Voltage Gain: 100 V/mV Typ

3. Peak-to-Peak Output Voltage Swing 26 V Typ With VCC± = ±15 V and RL = 600 Ω

4. High Slew Rate: 9 V/μs Typ

5. Conversion Rate

Slew rate is the rate at which an op amp can change its output when the input changes. The slew rate of the NE5532, NE5532A, SA5532 and SA5532A devices is 9V/ms.

6. Device Function Mode

The NE5532, NE5532A, SA5532, and SA5532A devices power up when the power supply is connected. Each of these devices can operate as a single-supply operational amplifier or a dual-supply amplifier, depending on the application.

7. Common Mode Rejection Ratio

The common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of an amplifier is a measure of the device's ability to reject unwanted input signals that are common to both input leads. It is found by taking the ratio of the change in input offset voltage to the change in input voltage and converting to decibels. Ideally, the common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) is infinite. But really, amplifiers are designed to be as high as possible. The CMRR of the NE5532, NE5532A, SA5532, and SA5532A devices is 100 dB.

8. Unity Gain Bandwidth

Unity gain bandwidth is the highest frequency at which an amplifier with unity gain can operate without severely distorting the signal. The NE5532, NE5532A, SA5532, and SA5532A devices have a 10 MHz unity-gain bandwidth.

Ⅵ. Advantages and Disadvantages of NE5532P

NE5532P is an operational amplifier with advantages of high precision, low noise and strong stability. It is used in a wide range of fields, including audio amplifiers, high impedance instrumentation amplifiers, industrial control, audio processing, and more.

However, it also has some disadvantages. For example, the bandwidth of NE5532P is not wide enough, only 1M; the gain-bandwidth product is not large enough, only 30MHz. Also, although it has low input noise, it consumes a lot of power. These limitations may make NE5532P not the best choice in some special application scenarios. In order to ensure the best performance, we need to make trade-offs and choices according to specific application scenarios.

Ⅶ. What is the difference between NE5532P and NE5532N?

NE5532P and NE5532N are functionally identical and there is no difference. The main difference between them is the manufacturer.

NE5532P is a product model of Texas Instruments, while NE5532N is a similar product model of ON (On Semiconductor) and PHILIPS. This means that the specifications, pinout and package dimensions of these models are the same, so they are completely interchangeable. This compatibility means that no additional adjustments or modifications are required when using both models. Whichever model we choose, performance and reliability are guaranteed.
