Organization: AMOLED market continued to decline in the third quarter, and the share of mobile phone panels of domestic manufacturers exceeded 30% for the first time

According to the recent data released by CINNO Research, in the third quarter of 2022, the shipments of AMOLED smart phone panels in the global market will be about 140 million, down 4.8% year on year and up 9.1% month on month. Although the demand for AMOLED smart phone panels has warmed up month on month, driven by the peak season effect, the trend of year-on-year decline continues. In the first three quarters of this year, the shipments of AMOLED smart phones in the global market have shown a negative growth.

By region, the share of South Korea accounted for 69.6%, and that of domestic manufacturers accounted for 30.4%, exceeding 30% for the first time. CINNO Research pointed out that although Samsung Display (SDC), the main manufacturer of rigid AMOLED panels, is making greater efforts to promote shipments to domestic mainstream Android brands, the price of domestic flexible AMOLED panel manufacturers is radical, so there is a big resistance to its promotion.

At the same time, CINNO Research released the mobile phone panel market report in November, saying that the price of smart phone panels in the fourth quarter is expected to remain stable, and the price decline will expand.

The report pointed out that, affected by the epidemic situation and the continued downturn of the global economy, the demand of the global smartphone market is still weak. Superimposed on the fact that the smartphone products have entered the mature stage of development, the market growth is slowing down, consumers are not able to change their mobile energy, and the market for mobile phone panels is seriously oversupplied.
