Intel: Accelerate 5G innovation through ecological cooperation

28 August 2023

Intel’s mission is to create technologies that change the world and benefit everyone on the planet. To this end, we are integrating the power of technology into the communications industry and expanding the cloud economy to the network and the edge. Cloud-based networks from the core to the edge will help create the 5G communications infrastructure we need for our data-driven future.

As with any revolutionary technology, the true value of 5G will come from an innovator ecosystem across industries. In this ecosystem, innovators improve each other's capabilities in an exponential manner, and Intel has a unique advantage in accelerating this type of collaboration. Starting from our core position in cloud, network and edge computing, we are pushing 5G out of the hype and bringing more proven 5G use cases. We are committed to helping the wider business community realize the full potential of 5G as the next generation and the best wireless network, whether it is based on ultra-reliable connected intelligent transportation, artificial intelligence-powered real-time data analysis, industrial manufacturing, or anything we have not yet imagined thing.

For this reason, Intel signed in Seattle to become a founding member of the 5G Open Innovation Lab. Intel will work side-by-side with other major industry players, including NASA and T-Mobile, and with startups to promote the development of new 5G technology capabilities, use cases, and market categories, which will change our current and future work. , Lifestyle and entertainment.

The 5G Open Innovation Lab will provide Bellevue’s vibrant technology community with 5G networks, equipment and software to show the world the potential that 5G can bring to the economy. Considering the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, the first batch of 17 startups will participate in a 12-week virtual project. The project will provide these startups with online guidance and technical tools to work directly with technology and business leaders to help their new 5G application vision become a reality. This rapid and accessible technological development is in complete agreement with Intel’s strategic vision of bringing 5G to market.

The 5G Open Innovation Lab will greatly break through the boundaries of traditional communications. For example, our NASA partner at NASA will collect the demand for nano-satellite networking, weather data analysis, and future Internet service expansion to space users.

The rich industry collaboration in the 5G Open Innovation Lab can lead to viable, tested applications that will realize the full potential of wireless connectivity, achieve sub-millisecond latency, 1,000 times the capacity, and better than what we now experience The speed is 100 times faster.

Just as we are driving the cloud computing revolution through processor technology, Intel will help nurture startups to develop 5G and edge applications that focus on the digital transformation of the industry. Opportunities have sprung up like mushrooms, but to make it a reality, this kind of collaboration provided by the lab is needed to enable mature companies and startups like Intel to build, accelerate, and bring innovative 5G solutions to the market.
