Acer faces PC market slowdown

28 August 2023

As demand for notebook computers continues to decline, Acer is working to enhance the capabilities of its PC products and continue to actively develop new businesses.

For the PC business, Acer is now mainly committed to improving its existing competitiveness and cooling technology. The company earlier terminated its loss-making phone and tablet product line and is now focusing on business transformation and seeking growth momentum for its emerging business.

Acer launched the Predator game brand in 2016 and has become the largest game brand in many markets in the past three years. Through the gaming business, Hongcer has recently established a ConceptD product line specifically for CAD users.

In addition to creating innovation for its core business, Acer has also been actively developing emerging businesses. Acer's digital signing subsidiary AOpen has been publicly listed, and the subsidiary ACSI has begun trading on the Taiwan OTC market in 2019, while Acer Synergy Tech is trading on the emerging stock market.

The impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the IT supply chain is weakening, but Acer will continue to closely monitor the status of the supply chain and will drive more orders to meet delayed demand after the outbreak.
