Description
The Z80 CTC (Counter/Timer Circuit) is a four-channel counter/timer that can be programmed by system software for various counting and timing applications. It interfaces directly with the Z80 CPU and Z80 SIO, simplifying system design. The CTC has a standard Z80 Family daisy-chain interrupt structure, providing fully vectored, prioritized interrupts without external logic. It can also be used as an interrupt controller.

Four independently programmable counter/timer channels
Readable downcounters with selectable 16 or 256 prescalers
Automatic reloading of downcounters at zero count
Selectable positive or negative trigger for timer operation
Three channels with Zero Count/Timeout outputs capable of driving Darlington transistors (1.5 mV @ 1.5V)
NMOS version for cost-sensitive performance solutions
CMOS version for low power consumption
Interfaces directly to the Z80 CPU or Z80 SIO
Standard Z80 Family daisy-chain interrupt structure
6 MHz version supports 6.144 MHz CPU clock operation
