Description
The UCC3919 family of hot swap power managers provides comprehensive power management, hot swap, and fault handling capabilities. It employs a duty ratio current limiting technique, enabling peak load capability while limiting average power dissipation in the external pass transistor during fault conditions. The UCC3919 offers two reset modes, selectable via the L/R pin. In one mode, the IC attempts to reset itself repeatedly upon a fault occurrence, with user-defined maximum output current and pass transistor power dissipation. In the other mode, the output latches off until the L/R pin is reset or the shutdown pin is toggled. An onboard charge pump circuit provides the necessary gate voltage for an external N-channel power FET.
