Description
The TPS2350 is a hot swap power manager designed to replace OR-ing diodes in redundant -48-V power systems. It operates with supply voltages ranging from -12 V to -80 V and can withstand transients up to -100 V. The device utilizes two power FETs as low voltage drop diodes to efficiently select between two redundant power supplies, minimizing system power dissipation and voltage drop. Additionally, it employs a third power FET for load current slew rate control and peak current limiting, which can be programmed using a resistor and capacitor. The TPS2350 provides a power good output to enable downstream power converters and a fault output to indicate load issues.
