Description
The DRV8305-Q1 is a gate driver IC for three-phase motor drive applications. It provides three high-accuracy trimmed and temperature compensated half-bridge drivers, each capable of driving a high-side and low-side N-type MOSFET. A charge pump driver supports 100% duty cycle and low voltage operation for cold cranks. The gate driver can also handle load dumps up to 45 V. The gate driver uses automatic handshake when switching to prevent current shoot through. Accurate Vds of both the high-side and low-side FETS is sensed to protect external FETS during over current. The DRV8305-Q1 includes three current shunt amplifiers for accurate current measurement that support bidirectional current sensing. The DRV8305-Q1 has an integrated voltage regulator and controller to support a MCU or additional system power needs. The integrated voltage regulator can be interfaced directly with a standard LIN physical interface to allow very low system standby and sleep currents. The SPI provides detailed fault reporting and flexible parameter settings such as gain options for current shunt amplifier, slew rate control of gate driver, and so forth.
