Description
The PCF8523 is a CMOS Real-Time Clock (RTC) and calendar designed for low power consumption. It communicates via the I2C-bus with a maximum data rate of 1000 kbit/s. It features alarm and timer functions with an interrupt pin for wake-up signals. An offset register allows for clock frequency adjustment. The PCF8523 has a backup battery switch-over circuit that automatically switches to battery power during power failures.
