Description
The MCP45XX and MCP46XX devices are a family of I2C digital potentiometers with volatile memory. They offer a wide range of product offerings, including:
7-bit and 8-bit resistor networks
Single or dual resistor network options
Potentiometer or rheostat pinouts
Resistor network resolutions of 128 resistors (129 steps) for 7-bit devices and 256 resistors (257 steps) for 8-bit devices
RAB resistances of 5kΩ, 10kΩ, 50kΩ, and 100kΩ
Zero-scale to full-scale wiper operation
Low wiper resistance of 750Ω (typical)
Low tempco:
Absolute (rheostat): 50 ppm typical (0°C to 70°C)
Ratiometric (potentiometer): 15 ppm typical
I2C serial interface with support for 100 kHz, 400 kHz, and 3.4 MHz
