Description
The DS3232M is a low-cost, highly accurate, I2C real-time clock (RTC) with 236 bytes of battery-backed SRAM. It incorporates a battery input and maintains accurate timekeeping during power interruptions. The MEMS resonator enhances long-term accuracy and reduces manufacturing complexity.
The RTC tracks seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, including leap year adjustments. It operates in 24-hour or 12-hour format with an AM/PM indicator. Two programmable time-of-day alarms and a 1Hz output are provided.
A precision voltage reference and comparator monitor Vcc status, providing a reset output and automatically switching to backup power when necessary. The RST pin also serves as a pushbutton input for generating a microprocessor reset.
