Description
The DS2436 Battery Identification/Monitor Chip provides a convenient method for identifying battery packs by manufacturer, chemistry, or other parameters. It features a unique 64-bit ROM ID and a 16-bit Manufacturer ID. Additionally, it stores information on battery life and charge/discharge characteristics in its nonvolatile memory.
The DS2436 also monitors battery temperature without the need for a thermistor. It measures battery voltage and sends the value to a host CPU for end-of-charge or end-of-discharge determination or fuel gauge operation.
