Description
The bq24312 is an integrated circuit designed to protect Li-ion batteries from charging circuit failures. It monitors input voltage, input current, and battery voltage. In case of input overvoltage, it removes power from the charging circuit by turning off an internal switch. For overcurrent conditions, it limits system current at the threshold value and switches off the pass element after a blanking period. It also monitors its own die temperature and switches off if it exceeds 140°C. The input overcurrent threshold is user-programmable. The IC can be controlled by a processor and provides status information about fault conditions to the host.
