Description
AD7391ARU Overview
The packaging of electronic devices plays a crucial role in their functionality and durability. One such packaging technique is the use of tubes, which provide protection and ease of handling during transportation. The advancement of technology has led to the development of BICMOS, a technology that combines the advantages of both bipolar and CMOS technologies. This has resulted in improved performance and reduced power consumption. The minimum supply voltage required for the operation of BICMOS-based devices is 2.7V, making them suitable for low power applications. The architecture used in these devices is R-2R, which offers high precision and linearity. The D/A converter type used in BICMOS devices is known for its high accuracy and fast conversion rate of 17 ksps. The digital supply voltage range of these devices is 2.7V~5.5V, providing flexibility in their usage. The INL/DNL (LSB) values of ±2 (Max) and ±0.9 (Max) ensure accurate and reliable conversion. Despite its compact length of 4.4mm, BICMOS devices offer high performance and reliability, making them a preferred choice in the electronics industry.

The AD7390/AD7391 family of 10- and 12-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converters are designed to operate from a single 3 volt supply. Built using a CBCMOS process, these monolithic DACs offer the user low cost, and ease-of-use in single-supply 3 V volt systems. Operation is guaranteed over the supply voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V consuming less than 100 µA making this device ideal for battery operated applications. The full-scale voltage output is determined by the external reference input voltage applied. The rail-to-rail REFIN to DACOUT allows for a full-scale voltage set equal the positive supply VDD or any value in between. A doubled-buffered serial-data interface offers high-speed, three-wire, SPI and microcontroller compatible inputs using data in (SDI), clock (CLK) and chip select (CS/LD) pins. Additionally, a CLR input sets the output to zero scale at power on or upon user demand. Both parts are offered in the same pin out to allow the user to select the amount of resolution appropriate for their application without circuit card redesign. The AD7390/AD7391 are specified over the extended industrial (-40°C to 85°C) temperature range. AD7390/AD7391 are available in plastic DIP, and low profile 1.75 mm height SO-8 surface mount packages. For ultracompact applications the thin 1.1 mm TSSOP-8 package will be available.
