Description
The AD7172-2 is a low-power, 24-bit, 31.25 KSPS sigma-delta ADC with true rail-to-rail buffers. It features a fast and flexible output rate ranging from 1.25 SPS to 31.25 KSPS, with a channel scan data rate of 6.21 kSPS/channel (161 μs settling). The ADC offers high performance specifications, including 17.2 noise-free bits at 31.25 KSPS and 24 noise-free bits at 5 SPS. It has an INL of ±2 ppm of FSR and 85 dB rejection of 50 Hz and 60 Hz with 50 ms settling.
The AD7172-2 provides user-configurable input channels, allowing for 2 fully differential channels or 4 single-ended channels. It includes a crosspoint multiplexer, an on-chip 2.5 V reference (±2 ppm/°C drift), and true rail-to-rail analog and reference input buffers. The ADC can operate with an internal or external clock and supports a power supply range of AVDD1 = 3.0 V to 5.5 V, AVDD2 = 10 V, and VDD = 2 V to 5.5 V. It has a split supply with AVDD1 and AVSS at ±2.5 V or ±1.65 V and consumes only 1.5 mA of current. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 105°C.
