Analog Devices Inc. AD637KRZ
- Part Number:
- AD637KRZ
- Manufacturer:
- Analog Devices Inc.
- Ventron No:
- 3267375-AD637KRZ
- Description:
- IC RMS/DC CONV PRECISION 16SOIC
- Datasheet:
- AD637KRZ
Description
The AD637 is a high-precision, wideband RMS-to-DC converter that computes the true RMS value of complex waveforms. It offers exceptional accuracy, bandwidth, and dynamic range, comparable to discrete and modular techniques. The AD637 calculates the true root mean square, mean square, or absolute value of AC or AC plus DC input waveforms, providing an equivalent DC output voltage. The true RMS value is particularly useful as it directly relates to the signal's power.
Features
High accuracy:
0.02% maximum nonlinearity for 0V to 2V RMS input
0.1% additional error for crest factor up to 3
Wide bandwidth:
8 MHz at 2V RMS input
600 kHz at 100 mV RMS input
Computes:
True RMS
Square Mean Square
Absolute Value
dB output with 60 dB range
Chip select/power-down feature for analog three-state operation and quiescent current reduction from 2.2 mA to 350 μA
Input circuitry protected from overload voltages
Laser wafer trimmed for rated performance without external trimming
Only requires an external capacitor to set averaging period
Applications
Precision RMS measurement in remote or handheld devices
Wideband true RMS multiplexing
Power measurement
Signal analysis
Statistical analysis
