Description
The A5940 three-phase motor driver utilizes sinusoidal drive to minimize audible noise and vibration for medium-power fans. A sinusoidal voltage profile is applied to the motor windings at startup for quiet operation and gradual speed ramp-up. The voltage profile can be adjusted via the SOFTST pin to ensure compatibility with various motor characteristics. Motor speed is controlled by a duty cycle command applied to the PWM input, which operates over a wide frequency range.
