Description
The ICS813N2521-04 is a PLL-based synchronous multiplier optimized for PDH or SONET to Ethernet clock jitter attenuation and frequency translation. It features two internal frequency multiplication stages cascaded in series: a VCXO PLL for reference clock jitter attenuation and a FemtoClockⓇ NG frequency multiplier for low-jitter, high-frequency Ethernet output. Pre-divider and output divider multiplication ratios are selectable using device selection control pins, supporting common clock rates in PDH, SONET, and Ethernet applications. The VCXO requires an external pullable crystal and uses external passive loop filter components for PLL loop bandwidth and damping configuration. The device is packaged in a 32-VFQFN package and operates in the industrial temperature range.

Two differential inputs supporting LVPECL, LVDS, LVHSTL, SSTL, and HCSL input types
Input frequency range from 8kHz to 155.52MHz, including common PDH, SONET, and Ethernet rates
VCXO PLL for reference clock jitter attenuation, with external loop filter for bandwidth and damping optimization
FemtoClock NG frequency multiplier for low-jitter, high-frequency output
Absolute pull range: 100ppm
FemtoClock NG VCO frequency: 625MHz
RMS phase jitter @125MHz using a 25MHz crystal (12kHz-20MHz): 0.3ps (typical)
3.3V supply voltage
-40°C to 85°C ambient operating temperature
