Nokia announces cooperation with Broadcom to develop 5G chip

Nokia announced on Monday that it will cooperate with Broadcom to develop 5G chips. The scope of cooperation includes new custom processors, which will be integrated into Nokia's "5G powered by ReefShark" portfolio. Nokia said that deploying the ReefShark chipset will enable 5G operators to benefit from the reduction in size and energy consumption, while also improving capacity and overall performance while reducing total cost of ownership.

This collaboration will further expand the scope of Nokia ReefShark chipsets for 5G solutions and will improve the system performance and energy consumption of 5G networks.
