Diode supplier Eris Technology has focused on automotive electronics applications and is cautious about its sales prospects for the first quarter of 2020.
Eris said Eris' downstream customers slowed orders due to economic uncertainty caused by trade tensions and other factors, adding that shipments in the first quarter of 2020 could be negatively affected.
However, the company continues to say that the commercialization of 5G technology will stimulate diode demand for related equipment applications and drive Eris' sales growth throughout 2020.
Eris announced that consolidated revenue for the third quarter of 2019 was NT$408 million and net profit was NT$30 million (US$1 million). Earnings per share for the quarter was NT$0.68, and the company’s earnings per share for the first three quarters of 2019 were NT$1.77.
Due to the unfavorable product mix, Eris's gross margin in the third quarter decreased by 1.88 percentage points to 19.86%. Eris revealed that consolidated income in the first 10 months of 2019 increased by 2.9% from the same period last year to NT$1.29 billion.
